Professional Honor Roll

To qualify for the PHR, members have made contributions to the real estate industry, FAAR, and the community. Points are assigned in the following categories: Association Activities, Networking Events, Educational Activities, VAR & NAR Designations and Councils, Service/Civic Activity and Real Estate Production.

REALTOR® of the Year Award

This award recognizes a member who has given exemplary service to FAAR, Virginia REALTORS®, National Association of REALTORS®, and to the community. The honoree is dedicated to professionalism and has gone beyond what is expected of a REALTOR®. Awardee’s name/application will be submitted to the state for consideration at the state level.

Rookie of the Year Award

Nominated by the Brokerage, this award recognizes an agent based on the first 15 months from the date of licensure. Agent is motivated, knowledgeable, exhibits integrity, participates in FAAR and community activities, and has had notable success in sales.

Manager of the Year

This award goes to a Broker/Manager who is committed to agent education, REALTOR® achievements, business and civic accomplishments, and innovative management practices.

Realtors® Choice

Who knocks it out of the park during a transaction? This award honors an agent who makes transactions a seamless process. The recipient processes documents quickly, returns communications in a timely manner, possesses a positive attitude, negotiates competently, displays a professional demeanor, and delivers on promises. The nominator and nominee should not be from the same office.

Melanie Thompson Award

This award is designed to recognize leadership by a young Realtor® or an affiliate professional that is making a difference as a member or an affiliate of the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtor® and in their community. Young is defined as being new (under 7 years) in the real estate profession or Affiliate profession and/or a person who is advancing and promoting the education and involvement of the young professional (as defined above).

Icon Award

Awarded to a REALTOR® who has made a significant mark on the profession of real estate in the locality where he or she works. The Nominee’s name is recognizable to the community at large and is synonymous with exemplary ethical behavior and knowledgeable and compassionate service to clients and customers. The individual is highly respected by the REALTOR® community. The Nominee is generous with his or her time supporting community organizations, projects, and programs. Must have at least twenty years in the business.

The Spirit Award

This award recognizes a member who motivates others through enthusiasm for FAAR events. The recipient may serve on a committee, or they answer the call for help. The recipient is reliable and shows up. They encourage members to get involved in events. Recipient can be a person who takes on tasks such as transporting items to events or contributes to the set-up, tear down, and clean up without fanfare.

Affiliate of the Year Award

This award goes to an Affiliate member of FAAR who has provided exceptional service to FAAR, its members, and the general public. This person exhibits dedication to the real estate profession, shows a high degree of Association participation, and significant activity in civic/community service.

Good Neighbor Award

This award honors a FAAR member who gives a significant contribution of time or other resources to the local community. The efforts do not have to be real estate related. Award is based on the level of personal contributions (time included), broadness of impact, and the effort’s suitability as a role model for other association members. FAAR will assist the awardee in submitting to the state for consideration for the Virginia REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award.

Hall of Fame Award

Given to a member with more than twenty years in the business. This award recognizes a member who has given exemplary service to FAAR, Virginia REALTORS®, National Association of REALTORS®, and to the community. The honoree is dedicated to professionalism and has gone beyond what is expected of a REALTOR®. The Board of Directors or Awards Committee may also nominate a member for this award.

Silver Circle

Automatically awarded to those Realtor® members after 25 years of continuous membership in FAAR.

Realtor® Emeritus

Awarded to Realtor® members after 40 years of continuous membership in FAAR and 1 year of service at the National level. Must apply with NAR.
