FAAR has sent a letter expressing concerns about the advertised tax rate in Stafford County.  The proposed tax rate would increase the real estate tax from the current 0.85 per $100 of assessed value to $1.145 and would add a 0.03 fire levy for a total of $1.175.  This could lead to tax bill increases of more than $1,000, a 40% tax increase over current rates.  FAAR sent the letter below expressing concerns about that impact to current and prospective property owners in the County.

FAAR sent a letter to Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger a letter regarding the FHA conforming loan limit for Caroline County.  Caroline County is a non-metro area and has the lowest conforming loan limit for FHA of about $472,000 while its neighbor, Spotsylvania County is in the DC MSA and has a loan limit of over $1 million.  This puts Caroline at a disadvantage especially with the explosive price growth we’ve seen.  FAAR advocates for any means to raise that loan floor amount during this incredibly competitive time.  Click below to read the letter that FAAR sent.
